Free to current members or $5.00 for guests. This meeting is in person only at the Yakima Area Arboretum. 

 Doors open at 6:30 PM. We encourage you to register online ahead of time. Room at the event is limited. Member check-in and guest tickets may be available at the door if seats are available.

  Skip Payne has made a bit of a reputation for himself in the Mushroom Hunting Community as that “lone wolf guy who disappears into the woods for a few hours and comes out with monster hauls of mushrooms.”

 Skip attributes his successes in the field to three main brackets:

1) Research

2) Instinct

3) Perseverance 

  With this presentation, Skip will dive into each of these categories, affectionately abbreviated “RIP”- sharing his experiences, and revealing helpful methods and tools that you may take on your next hunt if you choose! If nothing else, you’ll hopefully be entertained by a few stories and be inspired to get out there and find some mushrooms!

  Inevitably, Skip’s passion for fungus  evolved into “Skip’s Shrooms” in which he has a created a line of popular spices made with his foraged mushrooms and home-grown garlic, along with other secret ingredients. 3 of these blends will be available for tasting and purchase if so desired!
